FINDING SELF
Part 2
(~*~)Hello,
Many wonder how I survived and how I cam out of it all with positive life perspectives once again.
It started with my getting out and exploring what our community had to offer. I decided to get more involved, and even volunteered for various efforts. It inspired me to start painting - to give my friends something from me that I had created. This grew my awareness of and access to not only my community, but also my creative mind, and a release from stress through art therapy - Hooray for the positive!! Shortly after I had my third surgery, and I had very little help during recovery once again. I was glad that my son was around this time, and was willing to help wherever he could.
As I entered my mid-thirties I ran into an ex boyfriend from my home province, re-fell in love (or so I thought), and without thinking clearly enough decided to move back there with him. Shortly after I had my second son, left him over negatives, and entered into single parenthood once again. It didn't even last a year, and I was stuck living with him until I could move out! Leaving me with the stresses of finding the funds to move back across the country, and to my friends that I considered family. WHEW! What a crazy ride that was!
Upon my returning across country, we (my son & I) stayed at a friend's place for the agreed upon week. Because of our arrival date our stay turned into three weeks, and while waiting to access our new apartment, I foolishly bought an over-priced mattress pad for us to sleep on. It caused stress between all of us there, and I am glad it did not ruin our friendships. I was so anxious to move out for my friends, that I requested to stay at another friend's place over the long weekend before we got our new apartment key. Thankfully they agreed and even gave us a ride to our new apartment after!
The first week in the new apartment was chaos! - It went as follows...
Holiday Monday I got lucky to get the key (thank you timing!), and we slept in our new space. Tuesday brought stuff from storage in Ontario, of which half my kitchen supplies were missing along with some other items. Wednesday brought friends from out of town that came to help (and brought some furniture - thanks so much!), and "meet my doctor" day! Thursday brought my stuff from my home province, and another friend from out of town to help. Friday brought me in to the doctor for the birth of my second son, and a quick weekend stay at the hospital. WHEW! Another crazy ride!
Since then I have had to go through two more surgeries, bringing the grand total to five and including more pins and a shin plate! All in all, out of five surgeries, I have had to teach myself how to walk four times! I was thankful to have full-time help these last two rounds, but it came with hefty a price! A "boyfriend" that ended up ripping me off for all my tech from a spare computer. It was completely cleaned out to the point that I now have to build it from scratch!
Insert positivity! - Thankfully I now see it as a project-in-waiting with both my sons.
I have had much to overcome to get through it as it all happened, and to get to the point of positive perspectives that I am at now.
